Open a Bank Account: Open a current account with a bank that is permitted to handle foreign exchange in the name of the business.

Code for Importer Exporter (IEC): The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) can provide you with an Importer Exporter Code (IEC). This 10-digit code is required for any company that conducts import-export transactions.

Documents Required for IEC:
The applicant's passport-sized photos;
PAN card
Bank certificate
Copy of the articles of association and memorandum (for corporations)
Details of a bank account

Application Submission: Send in the IEC application and required documentation online via the DGFT website. Make the necessary payment.
